THURSDAY NIGHT CHAT – SINGLE FEMALES

We have received interest from some of our members that chats geared towards certain Poly demographics are desired. There are those in our community that want to discuss Polyamory as it effects them directly instead of in a general forum chat such as our Sunday night topic driven environments.

Every Thursday starting at 6pm PST / 9pm EST (US/Canada) we set a room aside for women to meet and discuss polyamory and being the most sought after demographic out there.

PMM understands that there are people within our membership that do not fit into this category. General Poly Chat and Wild Tangents are open 24/7; along with our weekly Sunday Night chat, anyone can visit and chat in these rooms.

Like all chats, we have rules. Anyone can view the chat, (unless it gets out of hand), but only the correct demographic may take part in the discussion. Growing Pains

It appears the forums are showing some growing pains. I've gotten a few reports of certain threads taking a long time to show, or timing out completely.

I've been working on some database optimization and hope to have it tested and complete some time this week. This should make things run smoother. When ready, I will turn off the forums (but leave the rest of the site running) and apply the upgrades. So if you log in and find the forums suddenly missing, don't panic! They won't be gone for long.

Next in line is to upgrade the mail system. Eventually the whole site will be retrofitted so there may be some scheduled downtime over the next few weeks or months.

We'll post a schedule so you'll know ahead of time when to plan real-life events outside of PMM.

Remember, effective December 14th, 2009 PolyMatchMaker reverts back to normal operations.

This means that if you choose not to upgrade your account from a "Free Member" to a "Premium Member" some of your current features will be effected.
1 – You will be able to showcase one picture only on your profile. If you have more then one, the system will only show your "default" image.
2 – You will be able to email out 3 times during a 24 hour period instead of unlimited outbound emails.
3 - Location search will be limited to only your Country, State, City; there will not be a dropdown for looking via a distance.
4 – You will not be able to access the Chat feature when it arrives in January.

If you would like to upgrade your profile to "Premium Member Status" please note the button to the left of this message that says "Upgrade My Account".

Read the instructions as you can either do a one-time payment, or set up a reoccurring subscription. There is also an option for sending a money order payment through the mail.

Premium Membership
1 – Memberships are just $5.00 per month
2 – Memberships can be paid either by Paypal or Money Order
3 – A button named “Upgrade My Account” will appear on the left side bar as soon as the option is available.
4 – You do not have to be a Premium Member to use the site. Premium Membership gives you certain perks and privileges only

Chat
1 – We expect to have the Chat function working by the beginning of the year, maybe sooner.
2 – Chat will be available to Premium Members

Some text is being cut off
1 – We are aware of the problem and are working on it

Search
1 – The search feature was created from requests given to us over the years
2 – If you are having problems using it, please hit the “Clear” button at the bottom and start again
3 – If you are still not finding people, remove your city and just use your state, that will expand your search
4 – The actual trick is, the less requirements you put into your search, the more people you will find

PLEASE READ THIS NOTICE REGARDING UPGRADING YOUR ACCOUNT. THX

This is a friendly reminder that all Trial Memberships will end as of December 14th unless you have upgraded your membership to “Premium” member.

Please refer to the thread “Premium Status 12/14/09” on the General Poly Talk Forum.

The new “Upgrade Your Account” button will magically appear on the menu bar located to the right of this message on or near to December 1st 2009.

If you do not upgrade from a “Free/Trial” membership you will loose some of the features that are available to you right now.

Below is a list of some of the features offered dependent on your status

Free Members

1 – Mail/Messages
1a – You will be able to send a max of 3 outgoing PMM messages per 24 hour period. That does not mean per day, that means 24 hour period.
1b – You can receive unlimited emails from others, however can only respond if you haven't used your maximum messages per day limit

2 – Profile Photos
2a – You will have the ability to showcase only 1 picture on your profile. If, during this “Trial” stage you have uploaded more than one, the site will use your “default” picture. Any other photos that have been uploaded will not be shown when your profile is viewed.

3 – Search for Members
3a – You will have limited search options meaning that search distance will not be available

4 – Chat
4a – Chat is a feature due to arrive by or just after the beginning of the year. Free members will not have access to this feature.

Premium Members

1 – Mail/Messages
1a – You will be able to send and receive as many PMM messages as you like. No limits
1b – You will have the ability to see if your messages have been read
1c – You will have a sent box

2 – Profile Photos
2a – You will have the ability to showcase 3 pictures on your profile and change your default picture at will.

3 – Search for Members
3a – You will be able to search for PMM members by distance, key word search, quiz answers and more

4 – Chat
4a – Chat feature will be available to you 24/7 and is expected to be active by or just after the beginning of the year.

We are slowly but surely working out the bugs and really appreciate your feedback. Thank you for all the constructive comments and kudos.
